About and Contact

Hi there, I'm Kaye and welcome to my world! I am a designer, stitcher, and maker of all things handmade and crafty. I hold a Master of Information degree and currently work as a Librarian for an international media company; I also have an undergraduate background in Fine Art History, and Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations.

The name "Miss Print" was dreamt up by me and has a couple of roots - first, it's a play on my last name, so Miss Prince became Miss Print, and second I absolutely love to read and collect vintage books. Also, Miss Print can find a root in my love of design and fabric - what would one of my designs be without the awesome fabric prints that make it a reality?

I always remember crafting; my grandmother, Mary Ellen, first taught me to use a sewing machine when I was about five years old. We would make little clothes for my Barbies, and both her and my grandfather would venture to design stores and get me their old wallpaper, carpet, and linoleum sample books to use in crafting doll houses out of cardboard boxes. They would also pick me up old fabric sample books and I would sew "quilts" for my miniature dollhouse that used de-wadded cotton balls as batting. My mother crafted a little and did some knitting and crochet, and was a master cross stitcher!

I always appreciate the lovely comments left on my blog and the kind words sent via email - it makes me so happy to know that there are people out there who like what I'm doing!

If you'd like to send me an email you can reach me here. You can also find me on Flickr here or here on Twitter - I'd love to hear from you!
